I turned 40 recently (how is that possible? I'm sure I was 20 only last week). Anyway, for my birthday Dave and I went away, without the kids, for a long weekend to Istanbul. It was marvellous. What a wonderful city.
We obviously did a lot of the touristy stuff, but my favourite moment was getting onto the ferry on the Bosphorus and watching the gulls fly above the city shores.
